Vana Bawm is the General Secretary of the Bandarban Hills Churches of Christ and a member of the Bawm tribe, the only Christian group out of 11 tribal communities. While studying in India, Vana was reminded by his father - the first missionary to the Mru tribe - to remember God's Kingdom and to follow in his footsteps. Prompted by his heavenly Father as well, Vana returned to Bangladesh with a vision for the Mru community as well as the other tribal groups in the Chittigong Hill Tracts to come to know the good news of Jesus Christ. He remains faithful to this cause despite the difficulties of evangelising in a Muslim country and asks that we pray for Christians to remain faithful and strong in times of persecution.
ICP provides $2,700 as a subsidy to Vana's pastoral salary. Will you, as a church, partner with us in supporting Vana as he seeks to bring the gospel to the communities of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh?
