Let’s Bring Change through Developing Christian Leaders

GMP’s partnership in the Philippines is with the International Christian College of Manila (ICCM). ICCM was founded in 2000 and is a residential college with students coming from across the Philippines, as well as locally from the metropolitan Manila region. ICCM focuses on equipping students from both rural and urban settings who come from lower income households.

ICCM want to develop and equip a generation of teachers, ministers and lay leaders who are Christ-centred, faithful and focused on telling the good news to people on the margins. GMP is working in partnership with ICCM to produce well-trained, resilient ministers and teachers.

The GMP partnership with ICCM began in 2019; however, some Australian churches are familiar with and have been supporting ICCM for longer. 

Your partnership with GMP and ICCM allows the college to develop toward these goals. Students live on the campus because of the amount of time it takes to travel around Manila due to traffic congestion, and the poor internet facilities in more remote parts of the country. Currently, there are 70 students registered with ICCM. Your support helps develop a sense of security for ICCM’s campus which it rents in Antipolo, Manila. Your partnership also resources the development of ICCM’s facilities, and expanding the reach of ICCM through possible improvements to internet facilities and classrooms. These developments help ICCM to continue training the next generation of leaders.

There is scope for Australian churches to partner with ICCM, and walk alongside the next generation of Christian leaders in the Philippines. When it is safe to travel post COVID 19, that partnership could also include conducting partner visits to assist facility and encourage students.
