The GMP Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Mr John Lamerton has been appointed as the new Executive Officer, following the retirement of John Gilmore. John Lamerton will commence in his role on 30 January 2023. 

John Lamerton has 22 years not-for-profit and Christian ministry experience having served with some of Australia’s most well-known faith-based organisations including World Vision Australia, Anglicare and Mission Australia and in national executive leadership roles with Habitat for Humanity, Alpha Australia and currently as interim CEO with Christian NGO, Worldshare Australia. John credits his faith formation with his time the Churches of Christ congregation, Nationsheart Christian Community (ACT) where his leadership and calling was refined and sent him into ministry with Churches of Christ in the UK for three years where he also undertook his Masters in Missional Leadership. John’s strengths and interests include team health and performance, strategy execution, international partnerships, impact measurement and fundraising. John and his wife Tara and two daughters, Bella (8) and Heidi (6), worship at Coast Community Church on the Central Coast of NSW.

John Lamerton says “I look forward to getting to know the GMP team, board, partners, church leaders and supporters so we can mobilise more partnerships in response to the missional need of our times. Building on the foundation God has laid over 130 years through Global Mission Partners, my hope and prayer is we will support and inspire the Churches of Christ in Australia in a fresh season of fruitful mission.”
