Revival in the Grass

Tuesday, 26 May 2015

“I will pour out my Spirit on all people. your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my spirit on those days.” Joel 2:28, 29.

The churches in the Keram/Grass area of Papua New Guinea are experiencing exactly what the Prophet Joel prophesied. In recent months there has been a move of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the young people from the Melanesian Evangelical Church of Christ, Assemblies of God, Lutheran and the Catholic Church. United together in a move of the Holy Spirit, young people are being regenerated and empowered to evangelise throughout the four big villages in the Grass area – Yamen, Bobanten, Kambuku and Manu.

The movement is like a wild fire of God in people’s hearts, sweeping from one village to another. The young people are sharing their new faith, giving testimony to not using alcohol, drugs or listening to bad music. Both male and female youth are prophesying, seeing visions and praying for the sick. The young people are teaching and preaching to their peers and their message is reaching the wider community. Many people in villages turn to idols to protect them or to cast spells to curse other people. Now, many of the people are repenting and turning their hearts back to God. The Holy Spirit is demonstrating His power through signs and wonders as people turn from idol worship and traditional spiritual beliefs to worshipping the one true God. The youth are praying and people are being healed and set free in the name of Jesus!

Praise God for his wonderful work in the lives of these young people. Please continue to pray that many will turn to the Lord in this movement. Pray for those that God is using now to humble them under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and give back the glory that belongs to the Lord. Pray for lasting fruit of this revival movement in the lives of the young ones.
