South Sudan Church Partnership
Let's Bring Change through God's Word
GMP supports church and leadership development in South Sudan in three ways. Through the Marial Bai Church of Christ, the Aweil Bible College and providing a Chaplain for Emmanuel School.
Providing communities with a place to hear God's Word and to experience love, hope and blessings
The Marial Bai Church of Christ
Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) are among the world's most vulnerable people, with over 1.5 million IDPs in South Sudan living in large camps. In Aweil, the IDP population is estimated to be 5000 people. The IDP church, the Apanda Church of Christ, was planted in late 2014 and many are joining in expectation of hearing God's Word and seeing love, hope, mercy and blessings pour forth. They meet in a grass mat building and the congregation continues to grow. The Marial Bai Church of Christ meets at the Emmanuel School on Sundays and reaches out to a growing number of adults and children from the school and the wider community.
We invite you to partner with the Church of Christ in Aweil, South Sudan to provide the IDP community with a place to hear God's Word and to experience love, hope and blessings.
The Aweil Bible College
The Aweil Bible College provides a two-year diploma program. The college has been central to the development of leaders in Aweil, since the year 2000, to train pastors and evangelists and to see lives transformed in the local and the IDP churches. Several graduates now serve in government and others as pastors and evangelists.
Emmanuel School Chaplain
Our commitment is to provide the children that are part of the Emmanuel Children’s Centre with holistic care, which includes a spiritual component. GMP supports the salary of Pastor Butros, a Chaplain at Emmanuel School, as well as part of the salary of Paulino Malou, the Director of the Emmanuel School. The spiritual input for the children includes times of singing, teaching and prayer as well as the provision of pastoral support to the children and staff.
