David's Story

Evangelist David is a man with a compassionate heart. Leaving his homeland and relatives behind, he travelled more than 150 km to settle into and minister to the Mru community. It has been a difficult adjustment for him, his wife and two young children, however they have a great desire to serve the Mru people and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them.

Ministering to the Mru requires travelling long distances between villages by foot but David has found that the Mru are eager to simply obey the truth. Even with limited resources by way of Bibles and songbooks, they are often baptised in groups of ten or more at a time.

We invite you to partner with us in reaching the Mru people with the good news of Jesus Christ!

GMP supports 7 evangelists like David in their outreach roles at $1,800 each per year. They are committed to planting churches, teaching the people to read and write in their native script, teaching them to read the Bible, providing preschool education so that children are ready to attend school when they turn 12, and empowering locals to lead their communities.

David

It was my dream from the day I became a Christian (in 1998) to serve Christ among unreached peoples. In 2014, with my wife and two young children, we began mission to share the love of God with the Mru community, 150km from our home.

Elder Zingmun

I first served the Mru from 1978 to 1984. During this 7 year period we developed a song book and translation the Bible partly in the New Testament. From 2012, I have shared the love of Jesus as an Evangelist teacher for Duhkhah village.
