A New Office for a New Season

Thanks to a very generous bequest, Hosanna Ministries has opened a new office in India.

Richard and Joy Williams served as missionaries with Global Mission Partners (then Overseas Mission Board) in India from 1962-1967. As part of their legacy, they kindly left a significant gift in their will for the ongoing work in India.

Hosanna focuses on assisting ultra-low-income families, often living in squatter or slum-like conditions, to improve their livelihoods. Hosanna provides education and meals to children in Prakash Tekadi (often their only meal for the day), as well as mobile health clinics and livelihood skills training. Their livelihood training provides participants with new skills and qualifications in sewing, beauty therapy, driving and IT, creating long-lasting change as participants save costs, create their own businesses and gain meaningful employment.

For many years, Hosanna has operated from a small 3×6 metre office in the back streets of Ambernath on the outskirts of Mumbai. Thanks to DFAT’s Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) grant funding in recent years, through Global Mission Partners, Hosanna has been able to expand its programs and staffing. This growth has led to the need for a new office.

This new facility is a centrally located two-story, multi-purpose space. The Hosanna Team couldn’t be happier and have plans to host health clinics and training sessions from the new office, and it has the potential for some of the participants’ businesses to be based there, too.

In acknowledgement of the loving legacy of Richard and Joy’s service in India, the new office has been named the Williams Centre in their honour.

Like Richard and Joy Williams, you can leave a legacy of hope, compassion and love through a bequest.
