In 2027, the Global Mission Partners Indigenous Partnerships program is hosting discovery visits to experience the culture and faith of a number of our Indigenous partners, Juraki, on stunning Bunjalung country in northern New South Wales, Dusty Feet Mob in the wondrous southern Flinders Ranges in South Australia, Dhiiyaan in big sky country rural Queensland and river country Dareton in outback NSW.

You’re invited on these Immersion trips to explore the relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and communities, to listen, learn, and work together towards a reconciled and healed Australia based on God’s justice and mercy.

Participants will have the opportunity to connect with and learn about the rich culture of the traditional peoples of each of the lands we vist, hosted by local Indigenous Christian leaders. These partners work, sharing the Gospel and God’s love through faith-based community programs.

Depending on which location you choose, participants will experience activities that include:

• Welcome to Country
• Cultural dance ceremony
• Tours of the local cultural and historical  sites
• Cultural awareness input sessions
• Campfire reflection and yarning times
• Beach time and water safety 
• Cultural dance and art lessons
• Bushwalking and traditional games 

Hosted by Nick Wight, Juraki, Dusty Feet Mob, Dhiiyaan and the Dareton Youth & Community Centre, participants will experience a range of immersive activities and de-briefing ‘yarns’.

Church groups, leadership teams, study groups, or anyone looking to learn more about Indigenous culture, faith, and worldview in a relaxed rural retreat setting. 

Group sizes are limited to 15 people. Minimum age for participation is 18

Travel

Attendees will need to arrange their travel to and from the closest major airports (Gold Coast/ Coolangatta airport for Juraki / Adelaide for Dusty Feet Mob / Mildura for Dareton / Brisbane for Dhiiyaan). All local transport will be provided, including airport pickups and drop-offs. If you are local to or within driving distance of either of the Immersion locations and don’t require an airport pickup then arrangements can be made for you to self drive.

All meals and accommodation (shared cabins or glamping swags) will be provided
