Access to ministry training for all

In the Philippines, there is a need to develop and equip a generation of teachers, ministers and lay leaders who are Christ-centred, faithful and focused on telling the Good News to people on the margins.

What is the International Christian College of Manila?

The International College of Manila is a residential college with students attending from isolated areas, rural and urban settings, and the Manila region in the Philippines. The college focuses on equipping students from both rural and urban settings who come from lower-income households.

The college offers a BA in Theology with four streams of courses – Ministry, Mission, Music or Education. The most popular is Education, as it gives the graduating student opportunities to work as a teacher. The college is accredited by the government, which allows students to apply for teaching positions and work for government agencies. 

What is the impact of this project?

With degree-level education, students graduate with professional knowledge and skills, ready to serve their local church and community. When students study theology and education, they are positioned better to support themselves long-term in ministry after they graduate from college. 

People are often reluctant to serve in needier rural areas, but because many students come to study at the college from rural or lower economic areas, they return to their homes and take their knowledge and experience with them, benefiting their communities with quality discipleship.
