Indigenous Ministries

In partnership with Indigenous Australians, we’re helping to equip and train emerging leaders within Indigenous-led ministries.

Global Mission Partners continues to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we carry out the work of the Churches of Christ in Australia. Our Indigenous-specific ministries focus on supporting Indigenous communities and raising a new generation of Christian leaders.

Established by Global Missions Partners, Indigenous Ministries Australia (IMA) seeks to partner with Indigenous Australian communities, focusing on Indigenous ministry and leadership development.

The programs facilitated by IMA have been developed by a council of Indigenous leaders across Australia, facilitated by Mark Yettica-Paulson, a respected and gifted Indigenous Christian thinker, facilitator, and communicator. The key priority areas for IMA are:

  • Exploring new ministry paradigms and practices
  • Supporting new Indigenous-led initiatives
  • Partnerships of equality and mutuality
  • Focus on justice and advocacy
  • Focus on leadership development
  • Focus on sustainability
  • Focus on Indigenous leadership and autonomy
  • Focus on mission and community development
  • Strengthening Indigenous churches’ culture and communities
