Middle East Crisis Appeal FAQ

  1. Why has the Appeal been launched?

Alongside Christians globally, we are heartbroken seeing the suffering and loss of life. People made in God’s image and close to God’s heart hurting and suffering, both Israeli and Palestinian.

Global Mission Partners launched the Middle East Crisis Appeal to help provide critically needed humanitarian support to people affected by the conflict, and to provide our partner churches and supporters a trusted channel to give to assist in this crisis.

  1. Does Global Mission Partners have partners in the Middle East?

Global Mission Partners does not have direct partners in the Middle East.

In situations like this, we work with other trusted organisations through either the ACT Alliance or Church Agency Network Disaster Operations (CAN DO) as these are Christian organisations operating to the high standards of the international aid sector. In this case, we have chosen to partner with CAN DO member, Anglican Overseas Aid (AOA). Anglican Overseas Aid has a long-term partner in Gaza, the al-Ahli Arab Hospital.

  1. Where is the money going?

Donations received to the appeal will be directed through fellow member of the Church Agencies Network Disaster Organisation (CAN DO), Anglican Overseas Aid (AOA).

AOA’s local partner, the al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, is working to provide urgently needed aid so Christian care can continue in the midst of this conflict. The hospital provides healthcare to patients regardless of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or economic status. This appeal will help fund their emergency medical response, allowing them to provide 24-hour emergency care for all people impacted.

  1. What will the donations be used for?

This appeal will help fund the emergency medical response of the al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, where medical need is currently greatest. The hospital provides healthcare to patients regardless of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or economic status. Donations will help the hospital provide 24-hour emergency care for all people impacted, so Christian care can continue.

  1. Is my donation tax deductible?

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

  1. Are you supporting Israel or Palestine?

Importantly, Global Mission Partners and our partners are non-partisan. That is, we do not take sides.

Global Mission Partners is calling on the Churches of Christ movement across Australia to pray for peace, and for victims of the current conflict in Israel and Gaza. All people affected by this conflict are made in God’s image and close to God’s heart.

Global Mission Partners is committed to Christian mission and aid, working in partnership so all people can experience the fullness of life as God intended. The Middle East Crisis Appeal was launched to meet the needs of this humanitarian crisis and so we can resource a Christian response.
