Plough Project

Let's Bring Change through Agriculture

Many farmers in Aweil District still plough by hand - an exhausting and time consuming task. Some have adopted ploughing with oxen and have drastically cut their ploughing time, expanded their farm size and increased their yields. Our local partner, Christian Mercy International, is working with the poorest of farmers, providing them with oxen, ploughs and training. In return, the farmers will invest part of the money from their increased harvests into community projects such as building or clinic.

The Plough Project is planned for 4 communities around Aweil. The first of these is complete, the second is currently in progress.
