COVID-19 Ministry Appeal
The impact of COVID is beyond comprehension. In India we see the images of funeral pyres and try to comprehend the grief that each represents. We also know that lockdowns deeply affect people. The situation is made worse in many settings because there are few social security provisions and the dominant form of employment is casual.
People in these impacted communities have very few resources. The situation in India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Thailand and other places is deteriorating. Some of our Churches of Christ partners are well located in these vulnerable communities to provide direct and grass roots care and support.
Please give to this Appeal to help resource COVID-19 support by local churches.
Your support will provide financial resources to churches so they can reach out to those being impacted by COVID providing them with necessities like food, water and what they need most during this difficult time. It will also give comfort to our partners who are personally impacted by COVID.
Compassionate supporters have already helped achieve the following through the COVID-19 Ministry Appeal.
- 350 supply kits distributed containing vital food and health supplies distributed to people in need through church institutions in India.
- Provided around 35 people affected by leprosy with medical help that will last for one month in India.
- Provided food kits to a marginalised community of around 30 transgender people in India, that will feed their families for a month.
- Distributed 150 food hampers to people in need in Fiji. Each food hamper is worth about 50FJD and was distributed equally between the church community and those outside the church.
And it doesn’t end there. Our partners have plans to continue distributing vital food, medical supplies and care to those in need. Your gifts will continue to make this possible.
We continue to work with our partners in India, and also with partners in other countries that are experiencing extreme spikes in COVID cases. Your gift will help plan new support initiatives as needed.
Please give to this COVID-19 Appeal. Your help will continue making the ministry of care and support possible in our partner countries affected by COVID-19.
This appeal is NOT tax deductible.
