Born in Papua New Guinea to pioneer missionaries, Frank and Win Beale, Gwenyth has returned to the country of her birth as a Literacy Specialist to equip national teachers of elementary school and adult educators to teach literacy in their own language. She will help nationals learn to read and write in their own language, and also train and mentor literacy workers to educate others.
Gwenyth will serve in a combined Global Mission Partners / Pioneer Bible Translators role in the Madang Province as a Literacy Specialist. Her role will include helping nationals learn to read and write in their language so they can read the Bible and have literacy skills to help them in daily life. They in turn will take their knowledge and skills back to their people.
Gwenyth has worked as a social worker, primary school teacher and librarian. She has a special passion for literacy. One of her former positions included working with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation in creating literacy, curriculum suport and educational resources.
The daughter of pioneer missionaries, Frank and Win Beale, Gwenyth is looking forward to returning to the country of her childhood and giving back by equipping national teachers of elementary school and adult teachers to teach literacy in their own languages.
