COCOA Christmas Offering
Your gift this Christmas can give hope to people in the world’s hardest places.
People like Athiang, a mother living with a disability. Trying to protect her five children as they fled conflict in Sudan.
“We have experienced a lot of suffering,” she explained. “We were waiting for support… but they were taking too long to arrive.”
Tragically, one of Athiang’s children died as they waited for help. Athiang lost hope. She shared a desperate prayer: “My God, may you provide me food to secure the life of my remaining children”.
Athiang is one of many people facing crises in the places we partner. Conflict, inflation and climate change are forcing more and more people into poverty. We’re seeing some of the world’s most vulnerable people pushed further into hardship.
But your generosity gives hope in these hard places.
With your support, Paulino Malou and the Christian Mercy International team in South Sudan were present with Athiang in her time of need. The government turned to our partners to care for 150 families, just like Athiang’s. Paulino, like you, was filled with compassion. His team rallied to provide packages of food and essential items.
Athiang received food for her children. Despite her hardship, Athiang has hope. “We trust in God that he will provide for me and my family,” she told us.
Even in difficult times, people gain hope from your compassion. Your gift to the COCOA Christmas Offering will give hope to people like Athiang.
Your support of Athiang and her family is just one example of an urgent need being met by our partners. Your gift to the COCOA Christmas Offering assists those people living in the hardest places, through the work of our international Relief and Development partners.
Donate today give hope to people like Athiang.
Gifts of $2 or more to the COCOA Christmas Offering are tax deductible. All donations to the COCOA Christmas Offering will support COCOA projects including, but not restricted to, the ones described here.
