Give hope for a future free from poverty

Laxmi was born and raised in the slums of Mumbai, India. She never went to school and was married at age 14. Now in her mid-twenties, she is already a mother of three children aged at seven, five and 10 months. Laxmi knows how hard it is to live in poverty; where resources are scarce, and opportunities are few.

Now, Laxmi dreams of a better future for her children. “I want them to grow and leave this poverty.”

Your gift to the COCOA Christmas Offering can help people like Laxmi and her daughters get one step closer to leaving "this poverty.

With your support, Laxmi’s daughters received three years of education at the Emmanuel Education Centre, run by GMP Relief and Development partner, Hosanna Ministries. Because of the literacy skills she learned at the centre, Laxmi’s eldest daughter, Renuka, has been accepted into a school.

Through continuing education, children like Renuka have hope for a future free from poverty. The Education Centre has paved the way for Renuka’s future education, giving her more opportunities than Laxmi had.
